EXCELLENT Based on 184 reviews Patricia D2025-08-18Verified Amazing experience! We were a group of 15 (5 kids and 10 adults) and had amazing experience from beginning to end. We booked with Captain Jack at the Coconut Bay resort (he can be found at the beach). He answered all our questions and accommodated all our needs! Our tour guide was Jimmy and our driver was Nelson. They were great. We experienced the Land and Sea tour and couldn’t be happier… from the panoramic view of the Pitons, mud baths, waterfalls, speed boat ride, to snorkelling and swimming in Sugar. We were on our own scheduled stayed as long as we wanted to. Not only did they thoroughly explain the history and landmarks of St. Lucia, they took our pictures and stayed with us the entire time! Great food and a cooler full of drinks followed us the entire trip! Book with Jack and you won’t be disappointed! Rui D2025-08-18Verified Land and sea exploration We were a group of 15 and let me tell you Jack the man really was friendly and helpful with his knowledge, professionalism and honesty.I would recommend doing the land and sea with the snorkeling and mud bath.Jimmy our guide man did an amazing job, explaining the beautiful spots and history of St. Lucia, one of the best tours I have done with my family and beautiful friends. We will be back one day.Truly,Rui patraveler12342025-08-15Verified Great Experience Great tour today. We met Jack on the beach at Coconut Bay Resort. He helped set up a tour that included Tet Paul, waterfall, lunch and Sugar beach. Our tour guide and driver was Culture. He made sure we had an excellent trip with history, St Lucian facts and lots of stops for pics and even some local fruit. A word of caution if you are prone to motion sickness be prepared for the windy roads. Brian S2025-08-08Verified A wonderful private Land & Sea experience not to be missed! We stayed at Coconut Bay beach resort and from pre-trip research we sought out Randy Jack “Sparrow” at the beach to inquire about their land and sea tour. We had the option to book a similar tour through the resort but the idea of a private and customizable tour for our party of four appealed to us. The price is very competitive and when you factor in the value of being on a private tour it was a no-brainer to book through Randy Jack. We paid a small deposit to reserve the tour and balance was paid with card at the end. Our guide, Culture, arrived on time in a newer SUV with proper AC so that was a great bonus. Culture was very engaging and provided great information on the history and the culture of the island as we made our way to the land portions. The volcano and mud baths were a great experience - we opted to take the tour of the sulphur field as an add-on to the included mud bath experience (we paid our extra fee to the site directly). We arrived at the mud baths and there were only a few people there. We did the mud baths and to Culture’s recommendation we did not rinse off at the end but rather towelled ourselves off to drive to the waterfall (as that is the “local” way). As we were leaving a large group arrived from our resort so our timing was perfect. We arrived at the waterfall and had a great therapeutic massage from the water and a good rinse. Culture took lots of photos on our behalf with our camera to document the experiences. Again timing on our side with a large group coming in just as we were leaving. Lunch was great at a local restaurant - once again we arrived before a somewhat larger group did so we never felt crowded or rushed throughout the entire experience. We opted for two snorkeling stops - one at the black sands of Anse Chastanet and the other at Sugar Beach between the Pitons. Transfers by speedboat were efficient and provided great picture-taking opportunities of the Pitons and the island. Both snorkelling stops were great - although the coral is generally bleached there was still a good variety of sea life. We unfortunately did not see any turtles however the schools of blue tang, and good quantities of parrot fish, angel fish, butterfly-fish and triggerfish among others was great! Make sure to stay within the roped boundaries due to boat traffic. The water at Anse Chastanet was crystal clear with a surprising quantity and diversity of fish including cuttlefish or squid were seen just off the beach. Culture made sure to point out the good snorkelling spots and gave us all the time we wanted at each stop. Culture also had a good supply of water, pop, and beer for our excursion. It was a 50 minute drive back to our hotel at the end but the ride was comfortable. Our tour was from 8:30 to 6 whereas the hotel tour was from 9 to 4. Our family wholeheartedly recommends Grasshopper tours. Look for Randy Jack “Sparrow” at the Coconut Bay Beach resort beach to take excellent care of you!Canada Katie S2025-07-30Verified Loved our experience at the Pitons Met Captain Jack on the beach at Coconut Bay resort and was a little skeptical at first. He offered a lower price than the hotel, so we decided to take a chance. Ended up having to best time visiting the waterfalls and pitons. Jimmy our driver was so much fun! He was super knowledgeable and let us take our time at each excursion. It was pretty winding and hilly to get to the pitons, so recommend taking a non-drowsy Dramamine if you are prone to motion sickness. The good news is you stop a lot and get out along the way, so it doesn’t make it as bad. Waterfalls were great and refreshing, we did walk have a 10min walk to our first waterfall and it required a lot of stairs, so would recommend bringing water shoes or sandals that have a good grip because it can get slick. The pitons were really cool as well, it was a quick boat ride to them and then relaxing at the beach after. If you have time, I would also recommend asking to stop at the chocolate shop on your way back, they have great ice cream, cocktails and chocolate souvenirs. Overall it was a fun personalized tour and I would absolutely book with this tour group again. Donna L2025-07-29Verified Great experience - Land and Sea Tour Used Lyndon Taxi and met Captain Jack on the beach at Coconut Bay Resort, as recommended by multiple posts on TripAdvisor and the Coconut Bay Facebook pages. We booked the Land and Sea Tour, and Jimmy was our guide. We had a large group of 16 and were very, very happy and impressed.Jimmy shared so much about the island’s history, and we made several stops along the way to the Sulphur Springs and mud bath. There were great photo ops, and we got to try some very local fruits. The Sulphur Springs and mud bath were wonderful—the water felt like a hot tub! Painting your body with the mud was surprisingly fun, and our skin felt amazing afterward. The smell wasn’t as bad as we expected, and we didn’t have to throw away our bathing suits. That said, it did take a few washes for some of us to get the smell out. I still wouldn’t recommend wearing a light-colored suit or anything you love, just in case.Next, we made a short stop at a pretty waterfall. The water was cold, and the waterfall was strong, but it made for a fun group photo and a great rinse after the mud bath. I’d recommend water shoes for this stop.Lunch was at a quaint local restaurant (I believe the name was Maria’s). The food was plentiful and very good, and the service was great. They were expecting us, so there were no issues with seating. After lunch, we headed to Sugar Bay by speedboat from the marina. The ride was quick and offered stunning views of the Pitons. Our group stayed away from the hotel area and were still able to use the water trampoline and floats, although I’ve read other posts saying those weren’t always allowed. Snorkeling was fun—we saw some nice fish right off the beach. They’ll provide snorkeling equipment if you don’t have your own; just ask. The entry is a bit rocky, so water shoes come in handy here too. After a short speedboat ride back to the marina, we returned to the van for the ride back to the hotel. If you’re interested in visiting the chocolate factory, be sure to get there before 4 PM—we missed it because we chose to spend more time at the beach. The ride back felt longer since there were no stops. The roads are winding and hilly, but our driver, Nelson, was excellent, and we felt very safe. If you’re prone to motion sickness, I recommend taking Dramamine.Drinks (water, soda, Piton beer, and rum punch) were available throughout the day.Overall, it was one of the best days of our trip. Don’t hesitate to book with them! The tour was tailored to what we wanted to do, and we never felt rushed. Jack was easy to work with, and the prices were better than the hotel’s. Jimmy was an excellent tour guide. It was worth every penny. Staci2025-07-19Verified Highly recommend Captain Jack! Well did two excursions which included horse back riding, waterfall, snorkeling, and choc We did 2 excursions and Jack saved us money to experience all the things we wanted to do. The first excursion included horse back riding, waterfalls, snorkeling at Sugar Beach. Jimmy (our guide for the day) even stopped by the road to let us try fresh fruit (Mangos and Guave). He gave us a wealth of knowledge of the island and the locals. This was a very cool experience! The second day we made “bean to chocolate bar” at Hotel Chocolat. This was so fun and we highly recommend! The only thing we did not enjoy was the lunch that was part of this excursion. Otherwise, we highly recommend Captain Jack for your excursion needs! We saved quite a bit of money and they were great experiences! MHendrix2025-07-18Verified Unforgettable tour! 2025 Lyndon gave us an amazing tour, we were two families (8 people, including 4 teenagers), we all had an amazing time. Lyndon goes above and beyond to show us around and made it a great experience for all of us. We also hired him to take us to a different resort and his driving was safe. We loved everything about our time with Lyndon. We will never forget this tour. And the food was wonderful as well! We will definitely contact him again should we go back to st Lucia - it’s a gorgeous island Nicola F2025-07-13Verified Great local tour of the island We met Jack Sparrow on Coconut Bay beach and he promised us a great tour. We had a private taxi, saw the best views and visited the local butcher. We also picked mangos off a tree as our son said how much he liked them. We then got a speed boat to Sugar Beach and snorkelled - as long as we wanted. I would recommend Grasshopper/Lyndon tours as it was good value and felt a lot more relaxed than the hotel tours where we felt rushed through everything. James B2025-07-12Verified Snorkeling, mud baths, site seeing . We did it all We booked a snorkeling trip, which turned out to way more . Tour guide was great . Sites were amazing.
